Gelli Print
A gelatin material "gelli" is a simple way to do a print. You only get one print "monoprint". Use stamps on the painted gelli to lift away an image. The stamp can also be used to stamp a paper. Paper stencils can be laid over the gelli plate or just paper strips. Use the gelli to transfer an image.
TIP: Keep ink thin on gelli plate 2-3drops
Experiment to learn the techniques.
- Play with ink: Blend two colors like a rainbow. Create a gradient.
Remove areas of ink, comb through.
- Lift ink off the gelli plate by stamping
- Add items to the gelli plate. Ink over them.
- Make another print after items are removed from gelli plate.
- Layer experiments
- Stamp over prints
- Allow stamped gelli to dry, add a coat of ink overtop of it to lift it. Print
- Try to lift the image off a glossy high contrast magazine
