What am I expected to do?
Follow the art process. Develop an artistic voice: INSPIRATION Ask yourself what do you want to say, show, what's your intention? create a mind map to explore this. DESIGN How can you show this intention with art? Create thumbnail sketches of a variety of ideas and ways that you could show this intention, look at your mind map for specific items that could be drawn and combined. How could you show this idea the best way? Once you have an idea create thumbnail sketches in which you explore points of view, zooming in or out on your subject, as well as sizes and placement of items. CREATION how can you reverse engineer what you are doing, edit as you go, take reflections and revise. (see poster below)
Experiment, warm up with materials and ideas. Find your theme and explore it, thats known as your artistic voice. Art is valued as a process to create original art work that is your voice. This is done through finding inspiration, not duplication! Strengthen your idea at least 2-3 resources to guarantee originality. No plagarism.

Upload Weekly grade is given for your time management for each week (including challenge level of artwork, effort given and responsible use of materials and cleaning. Document what you learned in your weekly portfolio. I cant reward what I dont know is going on inside your head.
Cell phone / Music Policy
Cell phones will be used as tools to look for inspiration on art, document artwork, and listen to music (no video). Cell phones used as distractions are not allowed. Communicate your intentions when you use your phone with the teacher. Inappropriate use of your cell phone will be -5pts off your time management for the week for each instance, or cell confiscation. Bring in ear pods with music if it helps you focus. Preset a music list so you’re not searching in class. Music will be on in the background in class.
